    Good spot ecoelle

It would appear common sense can prevail in some circumstances, lets hope this sets a welcome precedent.

surely this is what has happened to everyone's account who are on this forum - so if HSBC can admit this was wrong they should refund everyone who has found themselves in the same situation - which is most of you!

Probably will insist you change your name by deed poll to St Georges under 12's or something similar so it's probably not worth pursuing this approach.

I haven't read the article you linked too, but I know of the story.

I believe HSBC didn't care in the slightest at first and pretty much said 'like it or lump it'...then they offered £150 'good will' gesture after months of complaining.

It was only when Watchdog got involved that HSBC suddenly realised (yeah right!) that this was totally unacceptable behaviour from them and wrote the debt off.

Funny how they suddenly noticed at how unacceptable it was when Watchdog got involved... Strange that!

The only reason HSBC have wrote off these charges is because its for a group of school kids playing football in a non-profit club. Any idea how that would make HSBC look after Watchdog got involved?

The fact Watchdog had to get involved and only then, would HSBC write the debt off says a lot about them imo!
  • an admission they got it wrong,id say that was an admission of guilty as charged your honour,if that were me or you thats how it would be,they have owned up there wrong in this case, how many more are there. ?
missed direct debit charges, very odd, theres no pain so how come the big gain,i.e £39.00 for a letter

this alone must cast massive doubts over the supreme court test case outcome, admission of guilt it is,can it not get any clearer that they know they have conned us all,is it not time for bank charges to be quoshed as they are and all charges refunded, and i couldnt care two figs if the banks say they cant afford it,thats just tough, when i said i couldnt afford it,they threatened me with court action and made my life a misery,if this does not get brought up in a serious way by the powers that be then this country is doomed to complete failure,THIS IS AN ADMISSION OF GUILT as i see it.

this cannot be ignored, they say they are wrong in this case,if that is there stance then they are wrong with all cases,we are getting closer to the truth day by day,at this very minute i am firing up the bagpipes of war and dusting off my sword, the banks have now met a screaming ginger man wearing a kilt, wonder if i should keep my underpants on ? its getting a bit nippy outside.

Absolutely 100% correct in my opinion. Media got involved and they wrote the amount off and no other reason.
I have not worked for NatWest Bank since February 2009
