T-Mobile Solo questions

Hi
I had been on T-Mobile PAYG for about three and a half years after I defaulted on a mobile contract and a couple of other things. I generally got into trouble financially and my credit rating took quite a hammering. I have been doing my best to rebuild it by paying off my defaults but it is a slow process and I know it is still far from perfect. Anyway, after spending so much on top ups, the other day I decided to try and sign up for the Solo 20 30 day contract and I was accepted with no fuss.
I was just wondering if anybody could answer a few questions I have.
1. I know it's nothing major such as a credit card or bank loan but having some form of credit again must be good for my credit file, right?
2. Will making my payments on time with this type of contract help to rebuild my credit rating further?
3. I have no plans to ask about this for a while (I'm just happy to have some sort of contract again) but I've read that after a few months of good payments T-Mobile will offer you a full contract with a new phone. Is this true or just rumour? Has anyone had any experience of this happening?
Thanks for reading.

1) Yes it is, as long as you pay on time every month you'll start getting lots of little green ticks :-)
2) See point 1
3) It depends whether you only passed for a solo fixed or not. If its a solo fixed, it can take up to 12 months payments to be upgraded to a full handset tariff, if its a normal solo, it can be upgraded at any time.0 -
Solo Fixed & Normal uncapped Solo are just normal price plans. The price plans for customers with below par credit scores is named Solo H, if you have this price plan you will have to pay on time for the next 6months before t-mob will look at getting you a full contract. this could take up yo 12month though.
Set up Direct Debit if you can - not only willl this save you £3pm but ensures bills are paid on time.0
