look on the grabbit board. There is currently multiple glitches going around, last week it was coats from evans for £4, this week it is quiltcover sets for £2 each for doubles . I would bet you could make a few quid buying and selling them on ebay. M&S having quite alot of glitches at the moment too.MF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/20000

When I was made redundant a few years ago I did a bit of car dealing, but my method could easily relate to other items.
I specialised in minis and would go through all the local papers and free ads, ring up and go and see as many as i could over the weekend . I would then make very low offers on them and naturally 90% of the time would be turned down. But. I would always leave my name and phone number saying that I was really interested but just didnt have enough money, if they changed their mind etc...... It helps to take your partner along and get them saying how much they love it and want it (The nicer and friendlier you can be the more succes you will have)
Quite often if they didn't get a buyer and were desperate to sell I would get a call and often had the car sold within a week at a good profit with little more than a wash and valet.
There is a fair bit of legwork involved , but I remember my sales trainer saying to me "If it takes you a hundred calls to make a sale and earn £200 commision , split it down and look on each refusal as earning you £2.00 and it is one nearer the sale"
I think you could use this method with any product,It worked for me and kept the family fed and paid the bills for over a year!!0 -

I have done this a few times, but only with some items that haven't given me a huge profit. I have found that it is best to wait a while before putting things on as everyone has the same idea and you are more likely to get better money if you hold off for a bit.Saving for Uni!

Could you count me as I'm really needing a push to do this. I used to have an antique/second hand shop, so have no excuse. I also buy things out of charity shops because I know it's worth more, but it's just turned to clutter in the shed.
I've never ebayed before so I'll need to find out how to do that. As I live in the middle of nowhere that's where I'd need to sell my stuff.
Sounds like a great idea & will need the collective enthusiasim of this thread.0 -
Hi there
you are on the Internet so you have the biggest free resource available.I'd start by looking out for bargains on local sites, gumtree, preloved, freecycle, freeads..... There's so many more, it's just a case of being bothered to do it !
This is not fair though, taking things out of freecycle to make money out of it - The whole idea of freecycling is to take something you will use, not become a dealer out of it0 -

I have to say I do agree with this slightly - but I think the actual idea of freecycle is to stop items ending up in landfill - and that is what we would be doing. Although, I personally won't be using it, I don't see the harm in a few items.Saving for Uni!

Actually the thing with freecycle is you can try and sell things on if you make the owner aware you will be doing so. I think. Away to take some photos of some stuff to go on ebay. 1 way of looking at this could be £10 profit per item, 20 items a week That will give you 10k over a year.Work in progress...Update coming July 2012.
