Hello to all new members, keep reading through what everyone is posting, there is lots of great advice....thankyou
Remember...
You have to put in to get out,if you want to succeed-make it happen. If you are really skint look on freecycle for people giving items away, dont dismiss these ideas as they have worked for me and lots of other people. If you can scrape together a 'few quid',get to Christmas fairs, jumble sales and carboots.Look for designer labels on clothing, think about the weather at present.....would you sell a t-shirt or a jumper better at this time of year ? Would a golf jumper made by Pringle made in the 70's sell better than a jumper sold by Q & S ?
Within time you'll all be experts without realising it and the money will start building up too !
You cant expect this to happen overnight,so be realistic,if your target is £10,000 you'll be looking to make well over £200 a week after you've paid for everything (including tax/NI,petrol,stationary,parking fees, enterance fees) and whatever other overheads you may entail.I've said it once already-Dont kid yourself into thinking that if you take £100.00 you've made £100.00,from the start write down everything, see it in black and white, you'll then see where you can make savings, what items to pay more for, what not to buy again and so on.
Hope I'm not teaching to many people to suck eggs !
See you all later

This is very true, but you can turn arriving at a carboot sale late to your advantage.Wait until you see people packing up expensive items-they would much rather sell it than take it home again.Quite often you can put an insulting offer on something ,only for the seller to say "No,but you can have it for ......" this can save you a fortune.Be brave,it's worth it."Do not let what you can't do interfere with what you can do."0 -
Is there any "savings" accounts that have a cashpoint card? So i could keep this money in a seperate account from my wages and direct debits etc? QUOTE]
Try the Co-operative, I have a basic immediate access savings account with them, complete with card. Think Co-op are the lesser evil!
Please count me in, sounds great!0 -

This reminds me of one of those self-belief American efforts Louis Theroux had on one of his programs. Except you good people are not being scammed for hundreds of pounds. However the good thing is that this has got you guys and gals motivated and thinking positively, which in turn has got me thinking more positively and wondering how I can pocket some cash on top of my monthly peanut pay. £10,000 is wishful thinking for me and carbooting is not possible as I work every darn Saturday and Sunday

Hi there
you are on the Internet so you have the biggest free resource available.I'd start by looking out for bargains on local sites, gumtree, preloved, freecycle, freeads..... There's so many more, it's just a case of being bothered to do it !
Don't put barriers up if things don't happen straight away , find a solution and turn it to your advantage. You may find that there is a chance to create a local selling community ? Where there's a will ..."Do not let what you can't do interfere with what you can do."0 -

Its easy to say,but you have to take a positive approach, otherwise you'll feel beaten.
