Im a bit confused about tax and things and obviously want to do things right, I want to take on this challenge, i dont think ill make the target 10,000 as I just sell my own things like clothes books cds and bits on ebay amazon carboots etc. What do I need to do in regards to tax? Thats the bit that scares that pants off me lol!
So I dont give you the wrong advice, the best idea would be to read it fromhere
This has all you need to know.

I went to a carboot sale and bought a lovely TopShop shirt for 25p which I then sold on eBay for £9.50 - not a bad start!!
I'm in - not sure about the £10k but I'm definitely willing to maximise my 25p investment to get as much cash as I can for my holiday!
Good luck everyone!!!0 -

Hello there
the book is called 'The Secret'
it has more impact reading it from the book, rather than downloading it IMHO.
Read through the thread and I'm sure you'll have a better idea where to start.
As far as what to sell on Ebay anything sells to be truthful. As far as profit margins, then we are talking a different kettle of fish.My biggest profit ever was £3000,00 from a £100.00 investment. This was for a collection that I then split and sold individually......These profits are quite rare, but even a few weeks ago I picked up a pin badge from the 1920's of sporting interest from a local carboot sale.I paid £1.00 for it,it sold for nearly £300.00.
With my hand on my heart,I can honestly say that there is a lot of money to be made out there.I personally think that the second hand market is more profitable for a small one man business, than buying new items.I find that if you can try and purchase items that are in the very collectable bracket......postcards,badges,childrens books, jewellery, horse brasses - then you have a great chance to make serious money. The hoover I purchased yesterday for £10.00 I sold today for £130.00.I listed this on preloved.....so no fees and buyer came and collected.
Sometimes you have to think outside the box,do not get personal with items you sell,if you can make a profit in 2 days instead of waiting weeks for the extra £1.00,then this is what I do.Again all this is my own style of 'doing things'.
Carboot sales make me laugh sometimes,I do occasionally sell on them (my best result was in the Summer) I made £700.00 doing two back to back Sat/Sun.My outlay was taken out before this figure,so that was pure profit. One rule I try and stick to when doing carboots is: try and get at least £5-30.00 an item. This way I sell 100 items I may make £600+ .Where the tables either side of me have items advertised for 10-50p each, they may be lucky to make £40.00 ! Try and steer clear of childrens clothes / toys and videos, rthe more collectable the item, the better the chance of higher profits !
I will go to a carboot sometimes and not set up for an hour or two
-Why- because I'll be buying from niave sellers who dont know the value of what they are selling. This may sound harsh, but if I didn't buy it,some other reseller would be.
I think that's enough for you to ponder on at the mo.....thanks

Add me please....but I might have to spend the £100 slowly over a few months rather than just part with it now...speculate to accumulate and all that....i have dipped my toes into ebaying now and then, i go through phases, always my own personal stuff though. I will have to start thinking outside the box a bit I think. I have started considering things like getting some extra concert tickets if I am getting some or getting Jimmy Choos at H and M (my local store did not do them......grrr!) but I am always reluctant to actually part with my money! So it will really help me to have this target/support!Debt Free Wannabe by 1 January 2016
