Still a great return on your money. Much better than sticking it in a building society.

Hello all.....
I spent part of yesterday buying at a carboot sale,I spent my whole £100.00 starting amount, but I'm looking to turn that into £400-500.Once Ive got my first main sale sold and paid for,I'll have healthy stake to advance. My best purchase yesterday was a hoover that sell often on eBay for over £150.00,I paid £10.00.I also went to my local recycling center where I picked up an artists portfolio for £5.00.I would realistically hope to make several hundred pounds off this over the course of several months.
Hope everyone keeps focused, call back and if you want too, share your thoughts....Between all of us, we WILL do this !"Do not let what you can't do interfere with what you can do."0 -
Count me in! not entirely sure i will be able to do even half this amount, but never know unless you try and would be interesting to see just how successful everyone will be with various ideas.turn £100 into £10000 in 2010 member #16 £567.68/£10,000 -I'm a wiggly worm, I'm a wiggly worm, how do you do, I love you, I'm wiggly worm!0

Sounds like a great start bing0.
Well I bought the book you recommended, secondhand, so that's my first £2.50 investment.
I'm off on a week's holiday from today, but, by the time I come back, I commit to having mind mapped and drafted a business plan for 2010, to get me to the £10,000 mark.
I've never done mind mapping before, but I hear it's very useful, and I've printed off information on it from the internet.

Hi there
thankyou for the link, please remember there are no rules to this thread at all.Even if you manage to buy a 'Ladybird' book from a jumble sale for 5p
(and trust me,they can sell for big money if you get a rare one) and off that 5p you turn it into a £1.00,then the £1.00 you turn into £3.00 and so on......by this time next year, you still could have £100's !
It's not the starting or finishing amounts that matter too much, what this thread will provide is positive ideas, thoughts, support and anything else you want it to ! Whether you buy from jumble sales for pennies or at prestigious auctions for £10000's does not matter and that goes for anyone interested to !
Just the fact that you want to do better for your financies is a great start, remember there are lots of places you can get items for free.....
Ask family members
.search through your drawers,cupboards,garages
.sell clothes you do not use or need
.wait for the end of carboot sales where sellers throw away unwanted items....
.do a local leaflet drop asking for any unwanted items
When you are ready to do it,you'll have the tools in place 'to do it'
Never say you can't,just keep on trying, remember this is for yourselves, you are the one in charge of when and when not you do anything.
Maybe you need something to strive for:
get out of debt,be able to afford a better holiday, pay for a school trip, give up work and work for yourself ?
Whatever the reason, keep focused, and one thing is for sure,if you do not try,it will not happen !
I have suggested this time period as till the end of 2010,if you have a shorter or longer target then that's fine, but dont keep dwelling, actually do something,as time never stops-so do not waste it,it's very precious !
I'll post an update later, thanks all....:T"Do not let what you can't do interfere with what you can do."0 -
Can I ask a question? Im a bit confused about tax and things and obviously want to do things right, I want to take on this challenge, i dont think ill make the target 10,000 as I just sell my own things like clothes books cds and bits on ebay amazon carboots etc. What do I need to do in regards to tax? Thats the bit that scares that pants off me lol!Reclaimed Charges £2433
