I've noticed a few people are thinking of making and selling things. Have you considered selling your handmade products on folksy or etsy? They are both sites where people can set up a shop to sell handmade goods. Etsy is the larger American site, Folksy is a smaller UK site. I listed some notebooks I made in December on Folksy and sold 17 items. It only costs 20p to list an item for 6 months and with no sale fees you get to keep most of the profit you make on your products. I'm hoping folksy/etsy sales will contribute at least a small amount towards my 10k!

The Folksy website says "It costs 20p to list an item on Folksy and we charge 5% commission on all sales (this is taken from the list price and is not charged on postage too). " here http://www.folksy.com/static_pages/faq#shop-cost.

    Just so you know!

  • Hi all, well i have just come back from a fact finding mission:rotfl: i went to an Antique and flea market sale....

WOW:eek: the prices they were charging..... and some of the dealers that buy off me in work were there... so i could see exactly what they were selling some of my stuff for:mad:

so i am def going to do some shows/fairs through out the year with my vintage stuff..

also picked up some good ideas on how to present stuff for selling stuff too;)

what is the view on the best place to sell a couple of netbooks - brand new - looking at ebay the commisons seems quite high, when combined with paypal?

Is amazon market place a good bet?

I have two 19th century prints I want to sell to add to my pot. They're about 12" by 8" and still in the original frames. Any tips on how to go about selling them.:o( I just know I'll end up ripped off:o)

I've also spent £30 from my £100 and should make at least double back.
I also plan on dusting off my sewing machine and making dolls clothes to sell and will be listing a ton of stuff on ebay so hopefully will get a good start.
It's great so many people have decided to do this and give each other moral support. I'm feeling really positive about doing this now.:j

i should imagine an auction house, get them valued, and then put a reserve on them to make sure they dont go lower than what you want...

i find by putting things in auction they find their true value

  • Well I have been doing my free scratchcards this morning and playing my free bingo(not won but have a few days left of the freeness)

So far I have 2.10 +7.65 in the scratchcards( I keep forgetting to do them!)

I won't have a 100 pounds start up, I have an account my cash back goes into which I will use to pay in pay pal money from e baying my clutter and anyother extras. I am going to aim for 10,000 pounds. Mad maybe but I do have the whole year and I do have lots of ways to make even tiny amounts, it all adds up!

    Good luck everyone xxx

I think most of my 'profiteering' will come from ebay sales, I have a LOT of stuff to get rid of, car boots, both buying and selling for stock and trying out the bingo, scratchcard sites and Quidco and Topcashback.

I have a goal in mind, well two actually,

    1. Become debt free again, I've managed to accrue some debt and I want this gone fast.

    2. Get some savings together.

I have already been ebaying over Christmas and will continue to do this.

Again as the other poster before me stated, its a twofold positive, decluttering and making money...:j.

I'm quite excitibubbled but I warn you now, I've never successfully managed to finish a challenge yet, and I've started a few in my time...:o:rotfl:, so please feel free to kick me up my[STRIKE] arrrrrse[/STRIKE] bottom when I start to procrastinate.;):D

    Hi Buffy,

Could you guide me to the scratchcard sites. Do you have to deposit any cash at all? I'd be grateful for any info.

    Thanks, Boom.

    Hello all
I wanted to pop in and give you my support, I will be lurking/posting but not joining as I simply won't have the time this year (MA and other time intense courses) however a couple of years ago I joined a similar thread on here and we worked to rasie a similar amount in the year (I think it was called £2008 in 2008) loads did really well and it was very inspirational.
Good luck, I will lurk with much interest.
