ok indierocker - my take on it
Starting balance £65.04 ( capital - negative paypal)
Spent £60.36
Incoming £23
End balance £27.68
So no profit as yet due to purchasing
I personally would work out my sums differently. I assume the initial starting cash will always be in play. Therefore I would be using the following figures:
Profit = £23-£17.73-£?(ebay/paypal fees for this one transaction )
But I think we are all doing it differentlyVR repayment £404 £156.02 PAID

After having spent a good bit of time today searching for a link I'd seen in this thread somewhere, and the same a couple of days ago, my OCD-ish tendencies made me put together a sheet of all the links posted so far that might be of use in the future without me having to trawl through so many posts.
I hope it will be of use to someone else too, so I'm going to post it. If I've missed anything that you think should be on there, please let me know, and likewise if I've put anything on that really shouldn't be on, I'll take it back off again.

Totally agree, brilliant effort JoeyGrey. Also on the note of first posts etc. someone mentioned that we (i.e. Bing0) should restart the thread every now and again (probably 20-30 pages ago ) and contact a board guide to close this one down as the new one starts. All the really brilliant work like scrooge2008's participant list, the motivational posts about people who have walked this path before with great success and this linklist by JoeyGrey could all go at the front in up datable posts so that new arrivals can get up to speed really quickly. I am no expert on the protocols of sorting this out on this site, so if someone who is could help Bing0 out with it it would be brilliant. Thanks again for all our OCD specialists ... life would be very difficult without you. :T
Edit: ... and put a link to this thread at the beginning of the new one so we can easily jump back to something again if we need to"I hear and I forget. I see and I remember. I do and I understand." — Confucius0 -
Good luck to you all with this challenge! It's certainly got me thinking! :rotfl:
I don't know if this site has already been mentioned but it has a few handy tools for ebay... price finder, most popular products, seller history (could be handy to check out your competitors) to name a few.
www.Goofbay.com
I'm sure most of the regular ebayers know of this site so its really just a heads up for the newbies
Keep up the good work all! :TDid you know that 6 out of 7 dwarfs are not happy?!0 -
Have read my way along this thread because I do this sort of stuff anyway. Don't feel the need to join hehe, but decided I might as well be a supporter of sorts and actually say HI all and GOOD LUCK!!
In my neck of the woods I have found the following work well for me:
1) Books - especially romance books by popular authors. I find these everywhere, but especially charity book fairs. Be careful to do your research first so that you have a bit of an idea of what sells well online.
2) Silk scarves - recent addition to my searching. Can grab these for between .50-2 here and sell for upwards of 5 depending on condition/ brand. Something to consider as lots of secondhand stores have lots of these.
3) Have recently gone into clothes too, found that really nice but DIFFERENT skirts do really well. Not just your plain blah kind. Can buy often for around 5 even from second hand stores and onsell for 20+ depending on if it is branded or not etc.
And label baby clothes, often get hardly worn label baby clothes at garage sales etc for very cheap.
4) Am considering this year adding to my second hand stuff with making stuff. Have been building up a list of craft stuff that I am going to try.
Anyway, am just blabbing ...) Am watching my auctions close, 7 things have sold but am hoping for a few last minute bids ... sigh ... note to self ... get a life hehe.

Morning campers:D
Just Turbolisting at the moment and catching up on all the posts on here. What a fab post from joeygrey, thank you so much for doing that. Will save a lot of people a lot of time:T:T:T:T:T:T:T
I have some items ending today two have £10 bids and all have loads of watchers so hoping for some money today:D
When putting my dd to bed last she had all her best toys with her wanting to take them to bed. When I explained she couldn't because there was no room for her to sleep . She made me promise I wouldn't ebay them while she was asleep:o:o I have officially become obsessed. She's checking her toys at the moment to make sure I haven't squirreled anything away. Really making me feel bad. Everything I look at now has a price on it.
Oh a question, when listing on turbolister does the stock photo only appear when I've uploaded to ebay or shoulod it appear on TL. I'm listing dvds.
Thanks guys0 -

Agree that is an excellent summary joeygrey.
If Bing0 is happy to put it on the front page, perhaps you would keep it updated for us too. Maybe post it once a week with any updates and then Bing0 could copy and paste the new version on to the front page.
After today's member update list, I will just update members once a week too, for Bing0 to copy and paste, as the new member numbers are tailing off. I'll post it every Monday morning.I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.0 -
Morning all
Plan for today
Research more ideas, trying to think outside the box!!! My thinking is many things making a small profit is probably better in the long run rather than big things with big profit
List more items on Ebay, just downloaded turbo lister so it might take a while!!!!!DEBT Total Dec 12 = £30029DFD APRIL 20140
