Am I the only person to feel 'Oh good, I'll be glad to see the back of the greedy, incompetent barstewards', when I read articles like this?

Sadly moves like this:

make it less likely they'll have anywhere more lucrative to bog off to.

Can we send them to Afghanistan? I'll pack their bags and I might even pay for the air fare.

Why can't the govt call their bluff? The rest of us are going to suffer immense pain while they continue with their self-importance and belief in their own sense of entitlement.
British people are far too accepting. It's about time we stopped being held to ransom.
Another question ........ Can we ever afford another Labour govt?0 -
yeah, surely dubai, us, france etc will await them with open arms, give them free house and car... kinda like a footballer , transfer dealwhose part of the welcome deal is house, car, gym membership etc.
Im sick of them on tv and radio saying, if you hurt us, you stimulate slowdown etc..''
i mean, let s hurt them first, then think of the rest.... by that time, they will know they were wrong.
Rbs board ''thinking '' of quiting job and going abroad too..
there will be many in queue to take their jobs!0 -

GG
What a creative idea.
Cut the defence budget by sending out bankers to fight wars.
Maybe we could get the soldiers in to run the banks? Couldn't really do a worse job...0 -

It reminds me of when you work with those people who continuously moan about how underpaid they are, and how they would be missed, and yet they are still there on Monday morning.
My response is consistent to them and bankers. If you're not happy with your lot, just use those things called feet and go and find somewhere where you will be happy. I don't begrudge people freedom of movement.
It's the underlying threats / almost blackmail I do begrudge.0 -

The government's idea of a specific tax on bankers bonuses is as ridiculous as the way they're going about. All the banks need to do is pay £25k before April and the rest afterwards. If some go offshore the govt loses a large amount of tax relative to the small one-off gain of this idea. Once they're paying less tax overseas it will be hard to lure them back to the British system.
The real goal is to cash in on votes by fueling public outrage at bankers, whilst deflecting economic blame from the government.0
