That's what I would have thought as well. I thought I might have got 3 emails confirming payment as well but I didn't. HSBC have been very helpful trying to sort it out though as they said it's clearly a mistake and have given me the transaction numbers to pass on to just-eat.If At First You Don't Succeed, Call It Version 1.00 -

Might be best to check Messed Up. They probably haven't taken any money but it's better to be safe than sorry. If At First You Don't Succeed, Call It Version 1.00

Oh I vow never to use a card when paying again! cash only!
August 2009, OH and I got a takeway from JE, paid using our paypal card. the next day, we got another takeaway ( was having a fat few days) anyway, checked me banking and JE had taken out 2x payments for each meal, AND we're continuing to bill me everyday for the 2nd meal
Luckily paypal put a stop on my card. they said what had happened is..
When you pay like this, the money goes into a holding bit, and then JE take it out of the holding bit ( like a middle man ) but aswll as JE doing this, they also take the money straight away, hense the double payments.
Luckily I got all my money returned, and also a £25 quid JE voucher for the inconvieniance.
and if theres any typos in all of this I aint correcting em, so :P
Just-Eat is a brilliant idea, but I would urge people not to pay by card!0 -
Hi All, I have just read some of the posts and we have had a error on a very small % of card orders. We have as a matter of course been refunding and monitoring this every day to minimise any customer issues. The vast majority of card orders and processing is done in the normal and standard way and the security for all payments is of the highest standards.
We will always correct the error and refund any double payments that may occur because of the online payment sollution as 'Wench' says above. I understand the frustration for every customer this happens to, rest assured we willl have the solution and correction v soon. I'll drop a post in!
Cheers, David

can confirm they do pay you back - but what if you don't notice the odd £10 extra go out of your bank. You shouldn't have to check your account every time you pay for something.‘It ain’t over 'til it's over’0

We'll i've just checked the bank today and it appears that the money has gone back in, so at least the problem was sorted out without any problems. If At First You Don't Succeed, Call It Version 1.00

I've used just-eat before, and had no problems with payng by card, but I can imagine there are alot of downsides to the site and like any other online ordering service, there will be glitches and mistakes (unfortunately..)
I think in future I'll pay by cash wherever possible to keep my money safe..but i never usually have any cash handy, that's usually the problem lol:heartsmil Proud Weight Watcher :heartsmilStart Weight: 15st 13lb Current Weight: 10st 5lbTotal Loss to Date: 5st 8lb- - -Current 2011 Goal: Lose 8lb by 25th DecemberLoss This Week: -3 Total Loss 2011: -30
