Be careful if you use just-eat.com

I have just ordered a takeaway through just-eat.com and got a message to say my card had been declined even though it was only for £17 and I knew I had the funds. I contacted HSBC to find out why there was £51 missing out of my account and the balance was £0.00 when earlier on I had £50.94 and I haven't left the house today.
They told me that just eat had just taken 3 payments of £17.
In fairness I have spoken to Just Eat since and they are refunding them back to my account but if I hadn't checked then it would have cost me £51 for a couple of curries and a starters.
Just a word of warning if using them to check your balance afterwards.

Make sure you have cash and use a trusted local takeaway , its safer!0

It's the place I usually order from, just I haven't been out of the house all day and had no cash on me so thought I would use them and pay by card.If At First You Don't Succeed, Call It Version 1.00

I used justeat and it said it went through but it hadn't so we waited for an hour to not get our takeaway. Ended up going somewhere else and an hour later they rang to say it had just gone through. Card was refunded but doubt I'll be trying the service again. Shame..0

We tried them when they were running an offer and fancied a curry.
They had 3 takeways that said they delivered to our postcode.
Placed the order with one at lunchtime for a 7.30pm delivery.
Got a call from justeat at 8pm to say they wouldnt be able to deliver as we were too far away. They spent an hour saying they were transfering orders to another takeaway and then the third and none would deliver due to distance.
Complete farce and absolutely no point in using them. Far better to cut out the middleman.0 -
never had an issue with them and always been fine. Would use them again0

Only used them once and they were okay. I had no cash at home and could not be bothered to go out in the rain to the cash point.....
Can't see the business being overly successful though, in my area all of the takeways deliver their own menus so I have about half a dozen each of Pizza, Indian and Chinese suppliers....0 -
Had a lovely Indian last night via just-eat. Ordered in the morning, and it turned up just after I got home. Tasty.Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.
Now 20% cooler0 -
i have always used just-eat to order food - but i now just pay by cash.
D not use your card to order - it always seems to come out more than once. They do refund straight away but u always have to keep checking.‘It ain’t over 'til it's over’0 -
I am with HSBC and when I use Just-Eat the system goes through the 3-d validation thingy... for a payment to go through 3 times, it would have required 3 orders and 3 validations.. odd.Official SOS Club number 011 - Dry until 17/11/20090
