Abbey 3% ISA - transfer from Halifax

    Phew! OK, missed out on the 3.50%, but the new issue isn't any better than where I've gone... except this has 60 days notice and mine's locked in for a year. But that's OK.

    However, when I called Halifax just now to check the money had matured, they warned me that Abbey are advertising the 3% to get loads of business, but because the rate is variable, they are likely to drop their interest rate soon.
    This is simply sour grapes from Halifax. While the rate is variable, I don't recall Abbey dropping their ISA rates at all except when the BOE rate went down so with the BOE rate at 0.5% the ISA rate is unlikely to fall. Anyway, as it's an instant access no restriction ISA even if Abbey were to drop the rate you'd be free to move instantly to any other provider.
