Oh, I thought this was gonna be a thread about wrapping other presents - the little ways you make them all pretty and such :o:( Yes, I'm sad :)

Anyhoo, no I don't wrap presents from Santa. They're left on the sofa and she still gets the same excitement when she knows santa's been.

Ours weren't wrapped when we were kids - they only got wrapped when we got older and the presents got more expensive, but smaller.

ETA: Every other present is wrapped, btw! Anything she gets from me is wrapped and left under the tree, along with anything she gets from anyone else. It's just Santa presents that aren't wrapped.

how many presents are from santa?

just curious lol, as all the kids presents are from santa here

  • Wrap it, wrap it all. I love the kids face when they open each one.
They wake up every christmas morning (about 5am) to 1 present at the end of the bed, this way they know santa has been. We all go down stairs and it is christmas paper carnage for the next hour, I love it.
The next 2 hours is spent by me and other half trying to tidy up, but i would not change it for the world.
Even the dogs pressy is wraped this year.

My siblings and I are in our 20s and we still get our beaten up stockings from when we were tinies! I won't stop having it until I've got kids myself either :p

It's ok, you don't have to stop then either! In fact, it's difficult for young children to understand why Santa would bring them presents and not their very well behaved parents.:D

We all have stockings in our house. And EVERYTHING is wrapped. I buy special wrapping paper for Santa gifts (a different one for each child) and dispose of any leftovers immediately after wrapping. (Santa uses cheap paper with no ribbon or bows for stockings, so happy to recycle the odd 10p worth of paper).

Basically all of them. I've just wrapped a little hairdryer set (in the vain hope that she'll suddenly start to like having her hair done ) and some sweets up from me so that when we do presents in the afternoon/evening, she doesn't get nothing from me :p

She'll see all her Santa presents in the morning and we'll spend the time playing with them, we'll have lunch in the afternoon and then open the presents from everyone else (me, aunts, uncles, granny, granta, etc.) after dinner. We all take turns then too - mum sits beside the tree and passes out a present, then someone else gets one. That way we all get to see what everyone gets.

I love the way we do Christmas - it spreads it out over the day so that you can take stuff in and actually see who gave you what and appreciate it. I spent one Christmas at my exes with his family and was handed a little pile of presents. Everyone opened everything at the same time and you didn't get to see who got what and from whom - that's part of the fun for me.

In our house, Santa leaves the presents for her on the sofa. Anything that needs to be built up is built up and ready to go, nothing is wrapped so that she can start playing straight away. Tbh, the sofa is covered in so much stuff that she won't be able to take everything in at once anyway.
  • I wrap everything but we don't have a roast anymore 4 of my 5 children age 28 to 18 work all xmas day so we have it xmas eve or boxing day. They do all work in the same place though so it's nice for them.
If we visit dad that day we have roast but if we're at home we'll wait till all the kids can be here .
