Just been informed by work that I am not allowed to put up a Christmas tree...

The offical wording I got was:
Not allowed to setup my own decorations blah blah blah Oh but if i want to help them setup the ones in the bistro I can and I might get some to take back to my desk.
I know the person who told me this and I know it hasn't come straight from her but it is still upsetting to be told it like that.

That's a bit weird - do they mean you are only allowed approved decorations?
We got our annual email from Health & Safety yesterday about Christmas decorations telling us useful things like not to put candles on the tree in our office :rotfl: Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
Its very weird Red squirrel - it was literally less than ten second chat in the hallway - hoping maybe she said something and I missed it.
However counter-plans are in action! Am going to put a Christmas tree up on my desk - they forbid posters (even company ones) and frown upon silly things on our desk - so am going to get a desktop Christmas tree for now and see what happens after that.

The hotel I worked at in Switzerland had real candles on the tree in reception. It was stunning

Luc I bet that tree looked amazing, but can you seriously imagine many places in the UK having lit candle tree's lol!
