The dress requires drycleaning so i'm thinking a small refund to accomodate this should be ok?

Yes! I would be emailing for the cost of dry cleaning. Sometimes though, even that won't help. I bought a silk skirt which was marked down the back (sold as new with tags though they were dress agency tags). I was so cross and got £5 out of the seller for cleaning - they bargained about the cost! I recently took it in to discover one mark they couldn't get out was blood. Euch. That was after two dry clean cycles.

A lot of sellers will not give partial refunds and are wary of those that ask for them. If a problem i would never directly ask for one I would state to the seller the problems and then see what they come back with

I have refunded the cost of dry cleaning in the past when buyer found a mark on a coat that I had missed, and was happy to do so. If you are unhappy I urge you to communicate with your seller before you consider feedback. HTH

    Hi

Thank you all for your responses.

I emailed the seller stating the issue and asked them to advise. I didn't state that I wanted a refund to the dry cleaning cost as I wanted them to offer me solutions.

The seller was really polite and immediately offered either a refund of drycleaning or full refund of the item. I really really want the dress so i've opted for dry cleaning.

    Thank you all sooo much.:T

There you go Nixxx, there are some reasonable ebay sellers out there. Glad you got what you wanted. Well done.

That's great. Just to make sure your seller is totally happy that you're not trying it on (just in case there's a niggle) you should ring your local dry cleaner, ask for a quote and then email the seller to say 'I've spoken to xxxx where I live and they will clean the dress for £xxx'.
