they have got away with it for years so i very much doubt that trading standards can do anything about them !

    They can, and do.

But they need people to report them in the first place. Unfortunately, most people who fall for these scams are too embarrassed to report them.

I am quite interested how they are able to advertise scams in a newspaper... The newspaper should have checks on what advertising they allow, or god knows what will turn up the next time when they don't check.

There are work scams online too. Th ebottom line is that if you have to pay for a membership of any sort walk away, no matter what the compnay promise you. The old stuffing envelopes scam is still alive and working huh?

The only homeworking that works tends to be building your own blogs, for that fee you could've gotten a domain name and hosting for a year...

I lost my job for a few months during the financial crisis. I am not stupid but the A1 advert was in a leaflet supplied at the job centre and I did check their website first (very convincing!!). However when I returned the card and asked for my money back after a couple of months it was ignored. So I followed up with another email and letter saying the steps I would take to expose the scam. I was threatened by email and letter but got my money back.

I may now know who is behind this. Once I am sure of my facts should I go to the Trading Standards office or the police?

People like these are scum and prey on the ones who can least afford to pay.

There's alot of scamsters out there. The amount of people who want to sit at home stuffing envelopes is quite alarming. When I advertise, I do get people asking if they can stuff envelopes, when the ad has nothing to do with envelope stuffing. There was a company about a few years ago whereby they were posting flyer/ads to shops & Post offices enclosing a pound asking if they would put thei ad up, this was supposed to be for homeworkers, envelope stuffing, cutting things out, counting screws into bags. This was a con as well. They'd get people to do the work, then send it to where ever it had to go, then not pay as there would be faults with the workmanship. I don't think anyone got paid. Just be careful. As it's been said before, do not part with any money for info.
I get paid to smell great :j

Will i ever be able to get my £30 back??
