Ideal Solar Energy - experiences?

This company sent a letter saying I had made an enquiry (I hadn't as far as I knew). This was then followed up by a phone call.


Has anybody had any dealings with this company? They are claiming that they fit solar water heating panels from Germany that are not dependent totally on sunny days but will work in colder, winter days too. So up to 70% of your hot water and (with adaption) 30% of water for central heating.

Interested in comments.

without looking at the site anyone who starts a sale process by misrepresenting themselves (basically lying) to you is not going to get any better.

if you really like what the website says then I am sure you can find another. you should certainly not make quite a major investment talking to one advisor only

Solar Hot water is an absolute joke in money saving terms. The term 'up to' can mean anything! The interest on the sure fire investments I am selling will be 'up to' 85%!!!! i.e. it could be .00001%

Most of the firms seem to be concentrated in the Poole/Bournemouth area. As one firm goes bust, another opens. Same directors/personnel.

The subject of countless 'watchdog' type programmes.

Ring the local Trading Standards office about the firms - bear in mind that new ones spring up in the same area all the time - Google simplee solar for an example!

I wouldn't trust them with claims like that. You might get 85% of your energy on the hottest day of the year when you need it least :rotfl:

You just need to look at some of the reports in the on-line newspapers to understand that this is a company to avoid.

A firm of "no win no fee" operatives was advertising in the Daily Telegraph last weekend. I think it wanted to go after the jointly liable credit card company involved if someone had used the plastic to pay for their solar thermal installation.
The firms targeted are:

They are also interested in dodgy alarm companies.
