Does this sound silly

I can't afford much for christmas, I saw an item on eBay for my boyfriend. I saw they offered gift wrapping as an additional service, Now I've been a pretty naff partner last few months and he's put up with alot, Do you think if I emailed the seller (I've won the Auction already) asking if I paid extra they would include a note with it if I sent them the contents of the note. Something like "Thank you for being the most amazing person ever" or something similar. I'd be willing to pay extra for this.
Do you think the seller will go for it? Or is there some eBay rule saying they cannot as I don't want to get the seller in trouble for amending an invoice or something. Or does it sound silly and I should drop it? I've wrote him a more detailed letter so the note will just be that.

Couldn't you just do it yourself when it gets there? lol I'm sure they will if oyu ask like, but surely it would be easier for you to do it? A bit more personal too..•

How will you check the item if the seller gift wraps it before sending? Could be a potential for problems there, not least of which is disappointment on Christmas morning when the item is unwrapped and turns out to be half a brick instead of what you ordered!

I've gift wrapped items before and written whatever the buyer wants on the tag (usually relatives buying for a child and wanting the present to go straight there)...I'm always happy to oblige (and would be even happier if they wanted to pay extra lol). They deem him their worst enemy who tells them the truth. -- Plato0

Would it matter that it wasn't your writing?
Is there any reason why you cant wrap it yourself? It would make more sense. Be a shame if the item was damaged /didn't work etc. Not such a great present if he unwraps it and finds that out on Xmas Day.Herman - MP for all!0 -
If your so short of money is it really such a good idea to pay someone to wrap the item? You can get wrapping paper in the pound shop. Wilko sell it in sheets for less than a pound. Many shopping centres will wrap it for free if you buy something there.0

I agree with the personal comments - much nicer if you check it over, wrap it and then write your own message.....he will appreciate it much more, I'm sure that you have gone to the effort yourself, rather than paid someone else to do it, when you are already short of money...!Why does nobody say Thank You anymore??:mad:Debt Free as of September 2011 :jSealed Pot 2009 number 334 - £100 Saved! yey!!Sealed Pot 2010 number 334 - £116.51 Saved! To be honest, I was going to wrap it myself and hand it to him, However it seems he is on the last London bound train (He doesn't live in London) and it looks like he has to stay over christmas in London (I might have read his schedule wrong though) So I was planning on having it sent to him in London as a surprise for christmas, But I like the wrap it yourself idea. I'll get the seller to send the item to me and sort it myself0
