SOLVED - What is the difference between blue and yellow ethernet cable?

    But surely red is faster than yellow? And black ones just show up the dirt more?

    But you'll always be able to find your yellow cable in the car park, no one will want to steal it!

    I believe the Scottish ones are tartan. :p

    Yep but they are very expensive. It is hard to find tartan paint and it is reflected in the price.
    Problem with having access to internet is that i get asked by many to solve their problems :( Well at least i learn something on the way :D
  • It really is just a case of it is easier for tech support to describe the different cables during setup if they are specific colours.

    I work on the helpdesk and it really is that simple.

    No difference in the cables at all.

    Ah, but don't forget the european cat - cat 5e - same as 6 cats but you always feel short changed.
