Any advice experience would be gratefully received. I'd like to replace my old clunky computer with one of these after seeing Martin's appearance on the gadget show. i'm a very light computer user as disabled can only use PC for limited times. I use email; surf the web; occaisionally BBC iPlayer; store photos and music; plus very occasional use of word processing and spreadsheets.
I'm attracted by the fact they are so compact and accessible without crawling about the floor or moving furniture but I just can't seem to find any information, nothing at all on Acer website. There are several different specs available should I go for the largest harddrive or the 3610 with the dual processor and would Linux be a good idea to save money or a false economy.
Any help anyone is able to give I'd be very grateful.

iPlayer and Youtube might struggle on a single core Atom. I'd go dual-core and Ion graphics if you can. Linux will be fine for light surfing and word processing, although my experience of it is limited and I'm not sure how easy installing printer drivers and the like is for a novice user. There's love in this world for everyone. It already comes with an Operating System, so no need to think about Linux. For example: Acer Revo R3610
You don't mention a budget. You also don't say why you would prefer a NetTop as opposed to a laptop. Is it a preference for a larger monitor? Would you prefer XP to Windows 7?0 -
I've a samsung nc10, apart from no dvd drive, does everything else perfectly.0

That's a different model. A better comparison would be made using the same model with Linux.0 -
I would have, but they don't do a linux dual core version AFIAAA.There's love in this world for everyone. Every rascal and son of a gun.

It's a good job that the Aspire One isn't a net-top then :P
Acer seem to have rebranded the Revo line under the Packard Bell line which makes no sense but still.Nothing I say represents any past, present or future employer.0 -

Paul Thurrott recently reviewed the Acer AspireRevo, and he wasn't too impressed.
If your budget allows, you might like to consider a Mac Mini.0
