A Power shower uses water from a hot water tank and a pump is used to produce a very high pressure jet of water - they can use very large amounts of water.
An electric shower heats the water as it is used.

moonrakerz,
Not understood.
A power shower uses loads of water; up to 18 litres a minute, or more.
In fact the advice when fitting is you might have to fit bigger hot and cold water tanks.

The pump itself doesn't use much electricity.0 -
I have a pumped shower system ('power shower'), can confirm that pump doesn't use that much electric. However it does use lashings of water. I haven't expanded my tank, just got a 'normal' immersion tank.
Get two good long hot powerful showers out of a tank of hot water, so I'd guess a shower of this type is probably similar to a bath in terms of water consumption.
Not on a water meter, supplied by southwest robbers, sorry mean water! Seems we're better off without meter.

I was using your words (slightly modified) to refer to an electric shower - not to the pump..........didn't mean to confuse you !
I have a pump and only went for a 1.5 bar one to prevent the hot tank being emptied in no time flat.0 -
That does seem a lot for one person
I used 42 units last year for one
