Digital Tv question (blurry picture)

Options
Ive had a digi tv for several months now, but to be honest im still not convinced that the picture is as good as it could be, don't get me wrong its near perfect, with great colour and vision, however, i notice a slight 'blurr' when lets say we see a close up of a face and the face moves. to me different parts of the face move indipendantly rather than all together in a smooth motion. The face cheeks might blur as the move and the eye brows and often i see it more clearly in someones hair.

Im hoping im making sence here. Scenes that are not close such as lets say a grand prix race, everything is crisp and the motion is perfect.

to me i just seem to notice it when the picture is very close up and things move, like i say the thing that moves seems to move differently rather than everything moving in unison and together.

I use my TV through a sky box, but im sure the resolution???? has nothing to do with that.

Hopefully someone reading this amy understand what i'm going on about and possibley advise me on the little annoying problem.

How big is your TV and how close are you viewing it?
Sounds to me as if the screen size is too big for the room and you are sitting too close. LCD/Plasma TV's have a smaller 'range' of viewing distances at which the picture appears sharpest, than the older CRT's.

Make sure your Sky box is outputting RGB instead of composite over your SCART lead, this will give you a 'better' picture, but it sounds like you don't have a very 'fast' LCD and it doesn't deal very well with movement. Keep a lookout for sideways scrolling text, perhaps the credits at the end of a show, hardly readable and will drive you mad! Go plasma!

can you be a little clearler on the first part of your reply, perhaps that is the problem and i can try to solve it with a clearer answer for a non techno!

I don't actually have a Sky box so am going on old memory, but if you goto the main menu, then setup, then Picture settings I think. You may see a setting for PAL or RGB - RGB is far better - have a look around in the menus of that's not exactly right.

It is not very clear to me what can be the problem. It may be a technical issue, but silkyuk9 is right: maybe you sit too close to the image. However, this way everything should be blurred... Did you tried to call a technician?

I have a sharp aquos aswell and i had the same problem! through my virgin box when it was connected through the scart, i upgraded to V+ and use a HDMI cable now and its perfect. Maybe the RGB settings is the thing:confused:. Was driving me crazy, seemed to me sometimes the lip movement was a millisecond behind. you wouldnt believe how distracting it was.
