In that case I completely misuderstood the original post, from what I've read from it (and still do) I though the OP complained about saving the points during the whole year for Christmas as my friends do.

Only the points, not that he invested with them any money. I am not aware of such a club.

The christmas savers club which has been running for a couple of years now is where your usual clubcard vouchers are sent out each november but also you can top up the amount in multiples of 50p at the till and these vouchers are also sent out in November. It's an easier system than having to fiddle around buying saving stamps although the returns are actually better still with saving stamps.

And does it come in similar or same style of vouchers as normal reward vouchers? because those you can turn into 4x it's value for restaurants etc... it so that would be cool... But too good to be true?

Unfortunately not, the vouchers look the same but are red and can only be used as face value. Annoying thing about the system is they sometimes come in high denomination vouchers and you can't get change. I did it last year and got send 4, £35 vouchers so not always easyto use. I pulled out this year to make use of the double up but will be joining again in the next couple of weeks

So do you not get anything "extra" on top of your paid in amount? In which case even an account at 2% would be better.

We use Morrisons savings stamps as for £97 of your own money they give you £100 to spend. You could stick the cash into an account until say end of November then do your card(s)-can have up to 5 per household. Or just stick a few pounds on each time you shop.
But at the end of the day it will depend on where you do most of your shopping?
I find Morrisons consistantly better quality and cheaper, but still nip in to Tescos for offers. Although been much less to pop in for in the last couple of years, not many offers or clubcard boosts :(

No offense, but why would someone do that? Any savings account would be better. You get little extra and your money are in reach and you can spend them anywhere afterwards, which is one big plus.

Slightly off topic but has everyone had their extra Clubcard mailout. It is just that mine hasn't arrived yet but my points have disappeared.
Did you get yours? mine have not arrived:confused:

Because the main bulk of the vouchers are from CLUBCARD POINTS not cash paid in, the money paid in is to top up the points value.

RE the extra voucher mailing I got mine a couple of weeks ago but am waiting for other post which was mailed about the same time - apparently my local sorting office is practically ground to a halt still.

    Yes got mine.

On the subject of the Christmas Club you get extra depending on what is in when they pay them out. Someone told me it was about £6 extra per £100.

Yes i got a £6 bonus voucher which you get if you have over £100 i believe so better than a savings account ;)

Like i've now said i got a £6 bonus voucher and it also helped because if my shoppping came to say £23.50 i put 50p on which took it to £24 meaning i got an extra 12 clubard points from my clubcard for the shop as you only get them for each complete £2 so it helped get extra points and also, the 50p here and there soon added up :D No offence taken ;)
