I've read on here a number of times that it's not worth using these cheap online companies if you have a leasehold house - needs to be freehold as leaseholds are more complicated? Is this correct? Anyone had leasehold and used them and found it OK?
There certainly is more documentation for a leasehold HIP, a local independant is going to have the flexibility to work with whatver documentation you might already have. I know the prices the cheap online companies offer are generally for freeholds.

I'd always recommend getting quotes from local HIP providers, they often only charge slightly more than the big online companies. You might decide the benefits of dealing with one person who you can trust to get it done quickly and properly for you are worth it.

The website I'm involved with (trustedlocal.com) allows you to get multiple quotes from specialists local to you, or of course you can trawl through the phonebook.
