With charming, articulate, and well thought through interventions like the one quoted your insight will be missed on this board.

They are ok as long as there are no problems with anything but soon as there is an issue with some paperwork or land registry details they are pathetic. Pay a bit more, use someone local. If any issues arise you can always go and knock on their door !
I went with a cheapie online bunch and yea, when things go wrong they take forever to deal with it. The trick though is to ring them every 10 minutes chasing. They will start to get their butts into gear.0 -
We viewed 4 houses with 4 different estate agents before Christmas and they haven't even asked us for feedbackI should think they are probably battering down your front door if you are showing interest in the run-up to Christmas!
Do we need to register formally with estate agents? How do we do that and what's the point when everything is online anyway?0 -

Yes - you need to register, and to keep chasing them. They didn't come back to you because the market is really busy at present.
The houses you looked at may well be under offer already. If you are going to find the house of your dreams, you need to be a bit more proactive0 -
One has sold, the others are still there. I don't like anything else on Rightmove and hardly anything new is coming on. I'm not sure that the market is really busy because my search results are returning about 120 properties, it used to be more like 200. Just have to wait I suppose.
What is the advantage to registering?0
