Hi,
Im thinking of leavign my t mobile contract and just getting a PAYG sim (as i dont use it that often) Are there PAYG sims that you can use once every few months and not need to top up? If so, i guess its worth getting one with free credit (if any available) and porting my number across. This way i save the £35 a month contract!
Thanks all

Have a look at family mobile, you need to make a chargeable call every 90 days but you only need to top up when you are out of credit. I have run one for a year and just do a sms every 3mths or so, they send an email to remind me when it is time.
they also do a refer a friend scheme0 -
Thanks for that.. let me know what i details i need to recommend you, and should i sign up you should get some free credit.0

This is actually true of all PAYG SIMs. The misconception it's necessary to top up regularly is probably due to promotion of optional or bonus bundles added for monthly credits. It's fairly common for a call or outgoing sms every 180 days to be enough to keep a SIM alive, though there are variations0 -
Hi all
I called to cancel my tmobile contract to get a 10 top up monthly sim and get free txt and internet the next month. When I called them they offered me a rolling contract for 10 with free 300 min as well as txt and internet. I can cancel any time and they take the 10 so I dont have to remember to top up.And I keep my number0 -
Based on the above I guess it comes down to payg call costs and coverage, maybe consider these:
Asda, Standard Calls 8p Texts 4p uses Vodaphone network
Ikea, Standard Calls 9p Texts 6p uses TMobile network
Tesco, Standard Calls 20/10p Texts 10/5p uses O2 network(also gets points)

... or giffgaff, on O2, calls 8p texts 4p, free calls to freephone numbers and other giffgaff, free internet for 6 months0
