Hello everyone,
I'm planning a new diet that means I need to buy a lot of these 2 items.
Does anyone know who sells them cheapest?
Thanks.

Well Asda Basics Frozen Chicken Breasts the last time I looked were £3.20 per 1kg packet. Bargain! Also they're not that full of water, unlike Tesco's equivilant which practically boil in a wok,or just fill up the fat tray in a George Forman grill lol.
Tuna - well basics, smartprice.etc but you do get more brine/water than in the more expensive brands.0 -
If you have a farmfoods near you definatly worth a visit they are selling packs of frozen chicken breast at £4.50 a pack or 3 packs for £10 - last week I got 16 chicken breasts in my 3 packs, some are so big that my youngest and I share one between us. I normally transfer them into food bags for freezer in 3 or 4's.Fibro-Warrior0

One other option to reduce the cost, a bit, when buying fresh ones, is to buy them with the skin on or part boned. Means you have to do some of the work but they are cheaper. We all evolve - get on with it0

Personally I'd avoid the really cheap tinned tuna. It really is MUCH MUCH worse than the stuff you get by paying just a little more.Stompa0

Sainsburys Basics tuna is perfectly nice. 57p for a 185g can.
If you're buying a lot of the stuff, that 'little more' that you pay for branded soon adds up. (£1.38 for equilavent sized Princes can!)0 -

I bought a tin of tuna (about 39p) in B&M's once...oh dear god! I opened the tin...and found...BROWN WATER!!! :rotfl:
Straight in the bin...well, down the sink actually, seeing as there wasn't actually any 'solids' in there!
AVOID!
Cheap doesn't always necessarily mean any good!0 -
i use somerfield basics tuna, they are about 65p and taste the same as leading brands to me (i may just have wierd taste buds though

I completely agree. I buy the basics tuna and can't tell the difference between that and a branded product, but the branded tins I find eye wateringly expensive! At £5.39 for a pack of 4 Princes 185g tins that equates to almost a quarter of what I spend on food in a week!
It's worth noting though that the Princes 4 packs, I noticed when I looked up the price, are actually on offer at £2.69 at the moment in Sainsburys, that's a nice bargain there.0
