Is that just a 'we will give you a credit card' decision or does that include the actual credit limit as well??

Nationwide gave me the limit and the CC account number too.....I was surprised at that.

Egg Money also approved me instantly and told me the card limit at the end of the online application. (Might not be the same for others though, this is just what happened to me).

I think everyones experiences with instant applications can be different. I had to wait for a written decision for the PO card and with Egg Money I had to wait for an advisor to call me back and give me the 3rd degree :)

I would guess that if there’s anything out of the ordinary, you don’t automatically get approved by the system and your application instead goes to a human for review.

I applied with Nationwide a few days ago and was sent a form to sign confirming everything, but they haven't asked for proof of my income at all (except for what I filled in on the form which was just a number, I didn't provide employer name or anything). Will they do this before finalising the card?

    Nuns! Nuns! Reverse!

'I do my job, do you do yours?'

  • Yes I think Nationwide do send out for further information. Id be highly shocked if they did not!

Post Office I am sure give you a decision immediately with a credit limit. The credit limit I think is quite conservative compared to alot of other providers.
