I think it is dependant on each store. One of mine said no to the previouse M & S ones. Haven't enquired with any others yet.
Be thankful for what you have because it could all be taken away tomorrow.;)

I don't like to sound too critical and I accept that its a case of 'each to his own' - but I reckon this is out of order. You know that Tesco do not accept coupons for non purchased items as a matter of national poicy so you have taken advantage of a poorly trained/new/seasonal staff member. I accept that Tesco should have trained them better - but I still reckon you were a bit unfair and the staff member will almost certainly get an unpleasant session with their Manager as a result.

I only came to post the savings I had made (after all thats what this forum is for). I have no regrets for the money I saved in t's. if you had read my previous posts I did mention that my local t's have become a bit more lenient with coupons by removing the small stickers from the self scans so ple can start using coupons again. in fact on some occassions the regular cashiers have also accepted the mocs without batting an eyelid. The cashier did not have to accept any of my mocs but he did. if t's dont train their staff thats not my problem! Another express t's (further away from me) also accepts coupons without any problems - does that mean i am taking advantage of them as well????

Yes, in my view (and I don't expect universal agreement!) it means exactly that. (Well, you did ask!)

I know that some people have reported that a few stores are still accepting some coupons - but its fairly well publicised that, due to trouble and possible court action with the manufacturers, Tesco have stopped their previous coupon friendly policy. I have encountered one or two young staff members (especially over the Christmas period when they are using student labour) who have seemed willing to take coupons - but I have always said that I didn't think they were allowed to anymore as I don't want to get them into trouble.

Tesco haven't trained the temp staff properly but I still feel that taking advantage of their lack of knowledge is a bit unfair. What you do is up to you - I didn't mind looking out for younger temp staff when the policy was to take coupons but I don't feel right about doing it now.

Not as soon as I feared, if true I'm sure it will still vary from store to store.....

I didn't have any problems giving up multiples of coupons today & just hope my store keeps being this lenient until end of January. If there is another month means I'll have to sort out some more space in the spare bedroom!
