had a lovely shop in t's other day where ( new) s. a took over £14 worth of coupons from me though I had not bought any of the products. I felt like a preditor preying on my victims of lined s.a going up n down the aisle figuring which one looked easy going n wud accept my mocs - lol!!!

Felt really good though coz he asked me twice if I had any more mocs he could put through and kept gaving him a handful that expire end of dec. - just like good old times!!!

I don't like to sound too critical and I accept that its a case of 'each to his own' - but I reckon this is out of order. You know that Tesco do not accept coupons for non purchased items as a matter of national poicy so you have taken advantage of a poorly trained/new/seasonal staff member. I accept that Tesco should have trained them better - but I still reckon you were a bit unfair and the staff member will almost certainly get an unpleasant session with their Manager as a result.

To a point, I agree with you tbw I do think it is a shame if a new cashier is reprimanded due to his/her lack of training and his/her attempts to be helpful to the customer but on the other hand I feel that the supermarkets Tesco/Waitrose have brought it on theirselves by their individual stores not keeping to the national policy pre black Friday due to the "managers discretion" angle. Post black Friday we have heard several times on here that some Tesco stores are still taking coupons though this does not apply to any in my area that I know of. The Waitrose stores seem to differ also, some only take 3 coupons in total and others 3 of each coupon.

If there was one policy and all stores kept to this there would not be any confusion.
