TT & BBCi player

Our darling boys have discovered that they can watch TV by using their Wii via bbc i player.

What we would like to know is;
Will this cost us more money on our talktalk account which is phone and BB. which we have had since TT began?
I have read somewhere that watching tv on line cost's ££££.

Thank you Niall

  • If you are on a cheap package with download limits, the answer is probably yes! There main packages appear though to be of 40GB limit.

As a guide, use the following

    60 hours web surfing = 1.5GB
    1 Music Album = 0.06GB
10 Min Video Clip on Youtube = 0.2GB
    Low definition movie = 0.75GB
    DVD quality movie = 4.5GB
    10 hours of internet radio = 1.2GB

So if they download 1 HD programme a day at 750MB, you would use around 24GB of your allowance a month

so watching say one hour of top gear it would use 750mb and watching a three hour film would use 2250mb?
    Thanks Niall

    Hi Naill24,

TalkTalk are not currently charging customers for going over their download limits. We are introducing a download usage monitor so customers can keep an eye on what they are using each month and once this is launched then charges will be applied for going over limit. As long as its not uses excessively then iPlayer and the likes of should not put you over your download limit. If you do find you are going over your limit then TalkTalk offer download boosts with the Essentials tariff to increase the limit to 80 gig per month or the Pro package with unlimited download use.

    Cheers

    Hi Emma thanks for that.
I have been with TT for 10 years + and when it started you where given a type off pin code if you had a premuim rate bar on your line. (IT is Four digts)
I have spoken to TT and they now nothing about it (proberly because they weren't born then:rotfl:)
Can you please do some digging and see if you can find it Please?
I did tell TT about a year ago what the number was but........

All this code stuff was well before broadband and before TT changed the T's & C'S for new customers about 6 years ago.
    Thank you Niall
