Yeah I got that 100 miles for £2.50.

Tried contacting airmiles to find out if I stockpile my current vouchers will they give me 100 miles per £2.50 but haven't had an answer anybody else asked the quiestion.

I currently have £150 worth of vouchers "saved up" which if they give 100miles per £2.50 will be a return flight to Orlando, plus what ever we collect between now & Feb

This might be there way of saying sorry to all us long haul collectors

I haven't even considered that they won't give you as many multiples of hundreds Avios as many multiples of £2.50 Tesco you exchange, there isn't normally any restriction and it doesn't mention any restriction now? Just says for every £2.50 you exchange in February?

I have just returned from holiday in Ireland where I arranged a hire car in advance, and paid partly in Airmiles by using my Tesco rewards.
Overall the experience was disappointing. When I booked the car I used reward vouchers with a face value of £75, to convert to Airmiles, and 'topped up' the cost with a credit card payment of £50. Making a total cost of £125 for the week.
Had I gone direct to Avis I could have hired the same car for £115. So not only did I pay more, but I also wasted my reward vouchers. Have others fallen for this Tesco/Airmiles con?

That's pretty standard I'm afraid. It'd be the same with a holiday - you'd pay the full brochure price in milesm but who pays the full brochure price?!? You just have to balance it out that the £75 in CC vouchers didn't really cost you anything, you just collected along the way.

    Always read the fine print:

The February bonus Avios deal is open to all Tesco Clubcard holders and is valid for Clubcard vouchers credited to your Avios account between 26/01/12 and 31/03/12.
    Thank you all who post.
  • Can someone who's more 'airmiles savvy' help me out please?
I have nearly 10,000 airmiles saved up and was planning too far ahead for a trip to Florida for 4. I want to now change this trip and use up my airmiles as soon as possible. I was thinking about a long weekend city break for me and my husband for the first half term in 2012 (I think Feb-march?). Airports we could use are Cardiff, Bristol or Heathrow.
Also, I've tried to do a search on MSE about eBay and airmiles and can't seem to find any info. I'm a regular eBay user and have been for about 6 years. Any chance of chasing up past expenditure to convert?
Lastly, I've been really lax with the whole airmiles saving (my own fault entirely). I'm pretty certain I had more points than what I have? Is there anyway of checking this?
    Thanks!

I've not heard of earning airmiles on Ebay - is that what you mean?
You'll need to search online for your trip.

Ebay and Airmiles? No idea what you mean...

As for the break... you will have to go on Airmiles.co.uk and start playing around with dates, destinations etc to book your flights and hotels.. given you are searching for only in 4 months time the airmiles flights might be limited so you might need to play for a while or give them a ring and say
"look, I want to go away on this and this date, can fly from here and here, what can you see on your system?"

Checking up miles - again, on Airmiles.co.uk in "my account" you can see how you earned or spent your miles...
  • Thanks josie, thanks Any. I think I'll give them a ring.
Here's where I read about eBay (under their Collecting Points hyperlink)

You have to go to Ebay through that link when shopping, are you doing that? (sorry if it is obvious).
Then it takes quite while to track, 30 days I think. And you have to have your cookies cleared etc to make sure it tracks.. Just like with cashback sites. Mine usualy track O.K., are you sure those gained points are not showing in "your account?"
    Mine says:
    date spend -750 miles flight
date earned 100 miles e-rewards partner
date earned 5 miles Asos shopping
    etc
  • Has anyone had a letter from Airmiles saying that if you spend £500 on your Duo American Express Card between 16th November and 16th February 2012 you will get a 3,000 bonus Avios voucher? I've had it, but I haven't heard anyone mention on here they have received it.

I was thinking, if I exchange my Tesco Vouchers in February (I have about £30) that will equal around 12,000 avios miles (with the increased offer), plus the voucher of 3,000 miles that's 15,000 miles plus when my current balance is transferred into Avios I'll get 10,000 so in total I'll have around 37,000 miles. Does anyone have an idea of what the prices are for part miles/part cash for Australia (from Manchester) or what the taxes are? I'm thinking if it is worth it, given that I've also flown direct from Manchester to Melbourne with Qatar last year for £580 return!!

I've previously used 10,000 miles for Australia with Airmiles. The flight was with Singapore, but we had to go from London which was a pain in the (it was just when T5 opened it it was chaos). I suppose if they will let you use them from Manchester this will be better, but I fear the availability will be shocking!!!

    Hi rachelandgromit,
Yes, I received a letter in the last week or so, with the same incentive, but I've stupidly upgraded to a Premium Airmiles A/c with Lloyds TSB (better return for ebery £1 spent) - so I'm desperately hoping that this offer is still valid. Can easily spend £500 with 6 weeks commuter train travel for moi. Also, £50+ tesco vouchers arrived today, so will be telling Siri on my phone to remind me to cash them in when we get to February. :)
