Isn't there another clubcard mailing beginning to mid november? you could exchange them just in time.0

Am I being stupid or something? I want to redeem my airmiles for flights - my dates and destination are pretty flexible - BUT -every time I fill in any random date/destination, there are "no flights available". Is there some way of looking to see what flights ARE available on any date? Or what dates have availble flights to a particular destination?0

Is it really £300pp in taxes etc. Surely the real cost to BA in air tax and airport fees can't be more than £130 per passenger?
I don't think what it "really" costs comes into it, although am willing to be proved wrong!
I know what you're saying about flexibility etc., but the best part about airmiles IMHO was the fact that there was nothing more to pay, once you had enough miles and from what I can gather this is what a lot of others are complaining about with the new system. I'll be looking to spend mine this year and then ditching the scheme.
As you've proved with your Sanford's example - it'll be cheaper for a lot of people to just shop around for the best deal than pay these additional costs.
I was on an accelerated rate from years ago when Tesco took over giving airmiles from Sainsbury's, so no doubt will lose that too.
I'm outta here!0 -

I've just sent off 3 old phones for recycling, exchanged all my Tesco vouchers, and redeemed my e-reward points, but I need another 121 to book the ticket I want...
I can't use my Duo card, because I have an interest free balance on it, so can't use it for spending at the moment. Is the e-shop my only possibility, except for obviously buying 200 miles for £30?
Thanks for your ideas!
Ernie,
New rules came in this year that say that c/card companies MUST allocate any payments against most expensive balance first... so the old rule "never ever spend on BT card" is no longer valid... Martin even wrote article about it.. I'll try to find it for you.
Edit: http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/cards/balance-transfer-credit-cards#never
It basicaly says what I just said, but also warns that you have to be careful - and repay the full spend otherwise obviously there will be some interest... Just showing you that I didn't make the new rules up:-)0 -

That's what I thought, but after spending £15 on my card & then making the minimum repayment plus £15, I was charged 27p interest on the next statement. I rang and queried it, and they refunded the interest, but advised me not to use it for anymore spending, until the interest free balance is cleared.
I know they're wrong, but I just can't be bothered having to ring them up & argue the toss about it every single month...I don't think I can hang on til Friday...0 -

I have just returned from holiday in Ireland where I arranged a hire car in advance, and paid partly in Airmiles by using my Tesco rewards.
Overall the experience was disappointing. When I booked the car I used reward vouchers with a face value of £75, to convert to Airmiles, and 'topped up' the cost with a credit card payment of £50. Making a total cost of £125 for the week.
Had I gone direct to Avis I could have hired the same car for £115. So not only did I pay more, but I also wasted my reward vouchers. Have others fallen for this Tesco/Airmiles con?0 -

I wish there was! I've desperately collected to have enough miles for 3 flights to Bangkok just before Airmiles turn into Avios, but so far no flights available, I just hope something will come up before it's too late to redeem within the current scheme...I don't think I can hang on til Friday...0 -
Due to the change it will be extremely busy.. someone on other thread suggested that you must look first thing in the morning... aparently they release some new flights during the nights...??
Don't know - just what someone else said.
Got an email that the conversion rate from Tesco is now back to 60 for £2.50.. (or 600 Avios). But they will be giving bonus in Feb - in total 1000 Avios per £2.50 conversion in Feb 2012.0 -
Yeah I got that 100 miles for £2.50.
Tried contacting airmiles to find out if I stockpile my current vouchers will they give me 100 miles per £2.50 but haven't had an answer anybody else asked the quiestion.
I currently have £150 worth of vouchers "saved up" which if they give 100miles per £2.50 will be a return flight to Orlando, plus what ever we collect between now & Feb
