Also I just checked my account to see if I got any better rate on the Tesco vouchers I changed in February this year. It doesn't show double. when was the offer valid from? thanks

This was an offer for people who had never converted before, so you wouldnt have qualified. 5,700 is a good amount, would get you quite far (depending on how many of you there are) but you only need 750 for a return flight to paris/amsterdam, then 1500 for spain, portugal, malta etc.
Everyone who thanks me when ive helped will get a 5% share when I win this weeks Euromillions......:p

  • I have just purchased 3 items from the Boots.com website.

There was a promotional offer of 750 points when you purchased 3 items.
Nowhere did it say that the base points will not be credited to my account if the bonus was applied.

    One item reads like this:
    6.3 ML £30.95 per 10ML
    £19.50
Collect 76 points with this purchase

The other 2 items both read:
    £13.00
Collect 52 points with this purchase

    The offer is this
750 points when you buy 3 or more selected Premium Beauty

Deduct the base points of 180 then
the offer is really only worth 570 points.

I do wish Boots would be more open and upfront in the way they deal with the offers.

I just got a letter from Tesco stating from 1st Spetember we will only get 50 Airmiles for £2.50 (instead of 60) boo :( Need to change mine soon so I don't lose out, this is a bummer though as its my main way to collect Airmiles (through my Tesco credit card and clubcard)

I wonder if I would be better off with another credit card provider? I don't fancy the Lloyds offer as don't really want an Amex.
I love a bargain and saving money! I don't have any debts and mortgage repaid in 2020

Oh no, that's bad news. Tescos points are the main way I add to my airmiles. Was hoping to have enough points saved for a flight to New York by next September but it is going to take me longer if its 50 points rather than 60 now.

You may already know this (:o) but did you know you can get Airmiles on on-line shopping, via Airmiles website?
I've been saving for flights to Vancouver next year and have added extra Airmiles by ordering stuff online via Airmiles estore rather than ordering straight from shops websites. eg, I got 147 Airmiles when I ordered a new camera from Jessops (ordered online and collected from local store) and have just ordered a laptop from Tesco Direct (I estimate I'll get about 80 Airmiles from that, in addition to the 242 Airmiles I'll get from converting double Tesco points and Tesco Finance points from cc to Airmiles in due course) all things I would have ordered/bought online anyway, but with extra Airmiles just by going via Airmiles estore :T

Yes and for Tesco Premium Airmiles customers it's being reduced from 80 to 60 too!. I can't quite get my head around the fact that they're still trying to tell us it's more than it used to be.

I guess it's to do with still offering double points instore - still feels like we're getting less, but I suppose we just have to think we've been getting more for a year and now we're not!

I'd always found the airmiles website pretty good for seeing how many miles you need for somewhere. There's a big map with it all on, when you click on "spend miles" or a city list you can use.

You can also enter the number of miles you've got and see where my miles will take me.

New York has gone up from 4000 to 5000 mind, since the last time we went!
  • eg, I got 147 Airmiles when I ordered a new camera from Jessops (ordered online and collected from local store) and have just ordered a laptop from Tesco Direct (I estimate I'll get about 80 Airmiles from that, in addition to the 242 Airmiles I'll get from converting double Tesco points and Tesco Finance points from cc to Airmiles in due course) all things I would have ordered/bought online

But to get your Air Miles you clearly chose to give up the 4% cashback available from https://www.topcashback.co.uk for online transactions with Jessops and the 3% cashback on the laptop with Tesco Direct so Air Miles do have a real cost and are not free as you wrongly seem to continue to imagine.

And Air Miles are very hard indeed to redeem on dates when you want to travel. So I would still take the cashback every time by using https://www.topcashback.co.uk in preference to the Air Miles shopping site (they get the cashback instead of you which is how come they can afford to give you Air Miles).

Similarly if I can pay for something with my Egg Money Mastercard I earn 1% cashback redeemed off real goods and services once a year compared to more Never Never land Air Miles with my Lloyds Amex card that I may never get round to redeeming before BA finally goes belly up.
