A warning about Newvistalive survey site

In addition, I found the thread simply by googling Newvistalive, I do this with lots of sites when I want to see what others say about them or if there are any security issues, that's how I came into an old thread.
No need to apologise, this thread is the 3rd on a Google search and its always wise to do your research especially as this thread title is a "warning".

I signed up to new vista live years ago & until recently occasionally did the odd survey, but now I'm trying to get through as many as possible, but I'm not sure how it works (as I can't remember! lol)
I'm guessing from a post that the first and last common questions are the testers to see if you are answering properly - I wondered why these were all the same.
I've got 10 points so far, are the points worth pounds? So I have to do enough surveys (correctly) to get to 50 points before I can get paid?0 -
I was getting loads and loads of surveys through for this last month and managed to rack up close to 20 points but then they just seemed to stop. Hopefully it will pick up again soon but I have my doubts.
And I have also had 4-5 surveys on the site that wait for about ten minutes of me answering questions to say that "I dont qualify" which is very annoying and makes me suspicious0 -
I realised I made a mistake on one of my surveys, it was something easily done like I misread how many people in your household on one page over 18 (I put 2) and then about 10 pages later it asked what I thought was the same question again but it was just "How many people in your household" so again I had put 2 but somewhere else in the survey I'd mentioned having a baby so they said that it wasn't consistent and so I'd lost the £3 and wasted the 30mins i'd spent filling it in. I emailed them to explain it was a genuine mistake and I would like to go through and just change that response so it would make sense and they just emailed back saying that wasn't possible.
I now have given up using it. I think instead of having this kind of quality control they should have a way of delaying you clicking next, like a 10 second delay on each page or something.0 -

A penny saved, is a penny earned0 -
They already do have a delay on clicking next don't they?
They do, but a delay won't stop you making a mistake.
It happened to me a couple of years ago, after a 30min survey.
The mistake was my fault :mad:, as I didn't read the question properly, so any length of delay wouldn't have made any difference. It meant I ended up losing the 6 points for the survey = to £6; but it was my fault, not theirs.
I now take my own advice ; double check the questions & answers and don't rush the survey. They pay £1 for every 5mins of a survey, so an extra 2secs won't hurt.0 -
Just as I said the above I got two through today0

happened to me today as well 30 mins in and I miss read. They were asking questions about the main earner of the household and I swear it asked their age so clicked the right one and they said I had lied because my age was 34. I was like what the heck, ok they didnt use the word lie but I cant remember the wording lol but it was saying that in diff wording. Have emailed them to ask them to double check cos I do lots of surveys and never failed one before and I sincerely remember reading what is their age not what is your age.
It's a bit tough, I understand saying they need sensible answers but how about an error message but they are actually trying to trick you out if they have asked me my age on the second time and I did miss read because they had already asked me mine.
not very good. Wont be my first choice of site from now on x0 -
Actually this has been a great thread for me (also got it via google) as I think newvista is rubbish. The repetitive questions annoyed me immensely, the high payout; been a member for 6 years and only got two pay out's so far, also the loading of pages is slow. I have tried FOUR times to unsubscribe as I am a member of far better survey websites that pay at £10 both cash and vouchers, I have said this in the link as to why I want to go, still cannot unsubscribe so guess the way forward is to mess up on the questions then get removed from the site!! Woo hoo I can escape at last!!0

Why add to this thread, when the last post on it was well over a year old?0
