Need to buy 150 Oranges for Christingles-please help!

This is my second year of being responsible for making Christingles for our local Church.
I have bought some nice sweets and raisins for the cocktail sticks, but now I need to buy about 150 oranges as cheaply as I can.
Last year I got them from Morrisons for about 10p each. Please can anyone post any prices for oranges they have seen recently so I know where to head to. I have been doing lots of extra hours at work in the last fortnight, so I havent been able to spy any good deals.
I can easily reach Tesco, Sainsburys, Morrisons, Budgens and Waitrose. BUt if you know any other prices, they may be useful for any other people like me.
Thanks so much for any help you can give us, in raising money for the Childrens Society.

A local greengrocer should be able to supply a whole box at a discount? Tesco Citrus are £2.00 for two bags at the moment. Alternatively, try a market stall?A minute at the till, a lifetime on the bill.
Nothing tastes as good as being slim feels.

Morrisons have oranges at half price.
90p for 7 oranges.
I think that works out at £19.80 for 154 oranges.
I would follow MoaningMyrtle's advice and ask at a fruit shop or market stall.0 -
I would try a local greengrocer, they're more likely to give you a discount for buying in bulk, especially if they've got some past their best.Dum Spiro Spero0

I have a friend who buys Oranges wholesale to make marmalade, she gets them from Birmingham wholesale market and can get them as cheap as £2 a box with about 40 oranges in. Of course she gets the really ripe ones though!
In my experience the regular market in Birmingham can often be more than half the price of supermarkets.0 -
According to mysupermarket Sainsburys Basics Oranges 6 for £1, so are Tesco and Asda are 68p for five.
I'd call in to the easiest supermarket to get to at a less busy time, smile sweetly at the manager and say - it's for the church, what discount can you give on 150 basics/smartprice/value oranges? You may get nothing - the cheap ones can be making a loss anyway, but don't ask, don't get. And I guess most shops, even big ones, would feel a bit of a dent at losing 150 oranges out of stock in one hit, so its nice to warn them. (or they could sell you the ones that they need to shift quick so make sure it is pick up just before you want them)
Any greengrocers/supermarket workers/market stall traders go to your church? Supermarkets probably cheaper than Makro/Costco0 -
I think I saw small crates in Lidl a couple of days ago. It was about £3 and I would say 20 ish small clementines in there (maybe more).
It's only a game

Do you have a market near you? If not I'd certainly try a greengrocer if not Lidl often do very cheap oranges.0
