Satellite laptops

Hi...I was just browsing through all the laptops on the John Lewis Site and noticed a load of Toshiba laptops were satellite...can someone explain what the difference between that and a 'normal' laptop is and are they better? oh bit of a waste of time looking on that site...most laptops are out of stock!
