postal address for JSA formal complaints?

Does anyone know the postal address to write to if you wish to make a formal complaint about the handling of a JSA claim? The complaint isn't really about the Job Centre staff its more about the call centre staff (payments line) and the handling of the claim itself. Cheers guys :)

What information did you find when you checked the JCP website?
    Gone ... or have I?
  • On one page it said you could write or fax a complaint, but gave no address or fax number. On another page it told me to complain through my local job centre. The thing is I would rather submit my complaint in writing by recorded delivery so they can't ignore it and claim it was mislaid or some other poor excuse. I just want to know where to write to.

You can write to your local JCP by recorded delivery. Believe it or not, the people there are capable of signing for your letter. It will then be passed to the Area Manager.

Thank you for the sarcasm. I was only checking to see whether or not there was a dedicated address for written complaints .

No dmg is right you will need to send it to your local JC+ - there is no guarantee that just because it goes to a centralised complaints office it wont be lost or mislaid

Write to your MP and ask her/him to investigate. There are dedicated telephone numbers that MP's offices can use to communicate with DWP to resolve problems.
  • Cheers I will try sending it to JCP and if that gets me no where I shall write to my MP.
  • It should be addressed to the JSA BDC manager as well as your MP. There is a complaint booklet "Tell us what you think" that you can get from your local JCP but you don't need to use it, if you mark your letter as a complaint.
    Nothing to see here

Just take it to your local JCP and as for it to be given to a manager, they take complaints very serious (at least at the JCP where i work they do) and they will forward it on to the relevant people.

  • The address will be at the top of any letters you receive in respect of your JCP claim.
