Suspended for GM

Sorry for delay in response,
I have had the baby already so I am no longer pregnant
I was told that I had told a customer about a special offer that was coming out for a specific company and that it was confidential. No customer should have known about this offer and the customer had come in store when i wasnt there and said it was me that had told him
I was asked if I knew anything and I said yes and then I was told that I would be suspended when I get back from work. I said that even though I feel the charges are a bit harsh, they are in their right to do so and I am happy to face the music and deal with the matter whilst off sick. They said okay, arranged a date and when the date came up, they made an excuse for why the meeting could not go ahead.
I (not them) arranged another day, three days prior to the meeting i received no evidence so asked them to postpone which they agreed to, they then posponed it to the day I was due to have a c section as I am unable to give birth naturally due to the complications with my legs so I said no, if we can leave the matter until i return from maternity leave as I cannot deal with this soon after giving birth and thank god i did because it wasnt a straight forward c section.
I was off sick since february for the op, in march i was given 6 months sick not and then found out I was pregnant suspended at the end of march. I gave birth last month. I have not heard anything from them since our last conversation to arrange a meeting but I have called them to inform them that I have given birth
Does that give a clearer picture, ill be happy to answer more questions0 -
Hope you are Ok OP. Some of the gender related posts on here are pretty pointless so I would be inclined to ignore. Not in any way trying to suggest Im giving good advice but if I were you and you are asked about the GM thing should an interview situation arise, I would be completely upfront about it. I have interviewed people in the past and asked about certain things and it all comes out in the wash eventually so just be honest about it.:smileyhea0

The employer can still do a GM against you even if you resign.
Have to agree here - you are not looking like the most employable of people so I would be inclined to stick it out and go to the hearings etc. Fight your corner.0 -
But, did you actually tell the customer or not?0

you were told you were going to be suspended as soon as returned to work after being off sick? hardly going to speed up your recovery is it......surely the companies conduct can be called into question here0

ummm why? So a company doesn't proceed as a normal company because someone is off on the sick, surely that would be discrimination
to treat someone differant to how they would normally act!
