I know I'm going to get shot down for this, but why are 9 threads out of ten detailing stories like this (long term sick leave, suspensions etc etc) started by female posters?

Genuine question.
Obviously you have been through every thread ever posted on the board, categorised them into those which relate to long term sick leave and suspension and those which don't, noted the gender of the poster, in the many cases where the poster does not state whether they are male or female contacted them to confirm their gender, adjusted your results for those who did not reply, then come up with your 90% statistic?0 -

Read the posts in which these sort of disputes are discussed, and then tick the number in which the OP is obviously male and obviously female and come back and tell me I'm wrong.0 -

Why does it matter?
Genuine question
It doesn't, but I do find it noticeable and interesting, and I'm curious as to why it might be.
I strongly suspect there is a really interesting sociological phenomenon coming into play here somewhere and something to do with changing social dynamics.0 -

Or women are just more inclined to ask a forum rather than pick up a phone to ACAS?0 -
Getting back to the point... I'm not sure I'm understanding why the suspension has been postponed.
Suspension is not intended as a punishment for the employee, but purely to remove them from the workplace (and therefore prevent them from continuing to carry out the alleged offence or influence other employees/witnesses) whilst the investigation is conducted.
If the employee is already removed from the workplace, there would surely be no need for suspension?
Delaying the investigation for a year would also seem foolish - how many people can remember the specifics of any situation a year down the line?
Something's not stacking up here. OP - I think we need more info to be able to answer you.0 -
Quite, so why comment?! Maybe you could start another thread to discuss this sociological phenomena as you call it?It doesn't, but ..........
Back on topic:
Completely agree about the purposes of suspension and why the investigation has been delayed. OP can you shed any light on it. Seems strange to delay when they could save themselves time and money by carrying out the investigation while you are off sick. As a valued member of the company i'm sure they want you back as soon as possible so leaving the investigation until you are better and
THEN suspending you means you will be out of the workplace even longer. Maybe it IS a case that they are trying to get rid of the OP (for any number of reasons, not suggesting you deserve it OP
)
Be interested to find out more.

It may be the investigation is as complete as it can be without the OP and hence it has been not postponed but completion delayed until they return during which period they will be suspended.0
