Internet access through electric circuit?

Hope someone can help!
I've just purchased a Panasonic TXP42G15 which has Viera cast which I believe needs to have wired internet cable for access.
I have a wireless router in another room in the house and don't want to have a cable running around the house. I've seen mention of being able to set up access in other rooms using some special plugs in the electric circuit.
I don't understand what I would need for this and if it would then provide the necessary cable for the TV.
Hopefully someone out here will a) understand what I'm trying to ask for and b) help me by converting techie speak into simple words
Thanks

I have the zyxel pl-100s which are fine as long as you are on the same ring main but don't work if I try to use a computer upstairs. Does anyone know of a more suitable model?0

They all work in exactly the same way. In fact most (all?) use the same chipset so if the ones you have now won't work across different rings then none will.0

They should all work across different ring mains, as long as there is a common consumer unit. Where you might get a problem is if a property has maybe been converted from 2 flats, or 2 separate units at one time, and the wiring has not been combined though one CU again.
If you are streaming video through it, make sure you get the faster 200 Mbps model, not the slower 85mbps ones.No free lunch, and no free laptop

There really is a lot of crap posted about these only working on the same ring main or the same consumer unit!
I have used power-line adaptors to connect adjacent buildings, each with their own separate consumer units having multiple rings. The important factor is that they need to on the same supply phase. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
I'm using a pair of Solwise adaptors which are on different rings on different floors (and each on the end of a 4-way extension block) and they work perfectly. They were more or less plug and play. There's love in this world for everyone. Every rascal and son of a gun.

I'm using Devolo dLAN units. They do the job and like Fifer's they were plug and playHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0

As a TV engineer (retired) I would expect the adapters to work as you describe but they don't and so I would be grateful for any help in resolving the problem .
Could there be a firmware or software implication (fields in which I have no idea whatsoever)?0
