AVG - Avira co-existence?

Its very unwise to have 2 'on the fly' av programs running (Meaning theyre scanning as you use the computer)
You could very easily end up with a dead operating system ~ especially if they both pick up something at the same time. They can also conflict to the point that neither pick anything up (Rather pointless then)
You dont detail what your 'actual' problem is but assuming its a virus or suchlike then give your computer a scan with MALWAREBYTES:idea:0 -
disable the resident scanners in one of them
it is better to only have one anti virus,if you want a back up scanner use a stand alone like clamwin0 -
Theres actually nothing stopping you installing more than one antivirus on your system. Though why you'd want to??? Anyway the conflict comes from the on-demand parts of the antivirus of which you only want one running at any one time.
If you want to install AVG along side Avira you'll need to disable Avira starting automatically at boot and do the same with its services. Then install AVG. I would recommend using something like ZSoft Uninstaller to monitor the installation and use it to uninstall it and it'll remove all traces when you're finished.0
