Another I phone question....

Hi all sorry to be boring and ask yet another I phone question, but i have searched a bit and still not 100% sure on answer. Anyone have best ideas where i could get an I phone 3GS without contract or on PAYG must be unlocked or locked to Orange.

As i have a works phone who are on Orange, now because i like my gadgets and want to treat myself to new iphone, but paying the £480 i see most places want hurts and now put dought in my mind. Anyone know of cheaper places? I dont expect to get it for nothing, just want to get one as actually want ipod too, so why not combine?

iPhone on Orange payg £440 plus £10 top up.
That's the only way you'll get on on Orange, Apple don't sell them unlocked. The other wahy would be to buy it on O2 (and save £10 as no topup needed) and then jailbreak it, but for a tenner I'd go with Orange....

Thats what looks like the only option Jon. Did not really want to spend more than £350. Might leave it till after xmas and see if any pop up as unwanted xmas pressies.

The problem is that people know the going rate, you've only got look on some of the for sale sections on other forums (avforums for example), a new 3GS 16 gig goes for more than that.

I'm trying to work out how much I want one at the mo and can't decide !!

Cant see why people would pay more than that when you can get it new from provider. Yeah i know what you mean, i want one! But just how much......

I also want Ipod so good to combine the two but its an expensive "toy".

I'm being swayed after using my wifes iPod touch, I'm no Apple fan but the interface is spot on and the touchscreen is the best I've used. I was a windows mobile user for years, but the phones using wm aren't a patch on the iPhone (cue flames from wm fan !).

If you feel like waiting there's a new iPhone (G4) due in June/July so the cost of the 3GS will drop, but you just know the G4 will be the one you're lusting after after you've seen it...
