3 Mobile and their checks
Now my credit file is up to scratch, thought I'd try for a 3 deal, actually one of their laptops. £17.50 a month. So applied earlier on, got back 'thanks for choosing 3' but you can't tell if it has been accepted or not? Can anyone throw any light on their checking procedures?

Don't know about online but in store they take 3 amounts e.g. 50p out of your bank account and then refund you to check if the account is active.0

validate your address (ensuring it is your banking address) through a payment and refund / or electronic identity check like 192.com
use your validated address to do a credit score application through equifax or experian (affecting your credit score if you do too many).
then determine if you can have what you asked for, or decline your application or offer you something else.
they then do other stuff which is down to the network but the above is the main checks.

Well got an email to say I've been declined! Last week got accepted for a Full current account with Barclays and a store card

Oh well, is it difficult to get laptop deals with mobile companies?
Thing is 3 is the best coverage for me?
Checked with Experian and Equifax and can't see a search, strange.0 -

So you've had at least 2 credit checks, one at least for credit in one week !!!!!!!! and now another one for what is effectively a laptop on credit and you wonder why they turned you down ?
You actually say in your first post that you have just got your credit file up to scratch. Perhaps your attitude to credit is the problem. At this rate, you'd have 50 accounts, 100 store cards and 33 laptops in a single year. That is why you have been refused.0
