Well you can't do anything with a broken ipod. Sell the refurbished one on ebay, you'll get more than you paid for it and then put the money towards buying one when you can afford it. It just seems like you're complaining for the sake of it.

Thanks for the unhelpful advice. The original ipod was not broken, just faulty (ie not 100% perfect all the time - it still worked 95% of the time). I now have a refurb ipod which I could sell on ebay for approx £70 (current selling price for refurb ipod), once I pay the £62 Apple want from me I will have £8 profit and no ipod. Hardly fair considering that Apple have breached their contract to me by throwing away my goods without my agreement.

I must say, using this forum as a newbie, no-one has actually provided me with any helpful advice. I believe I have a genuine query and was hoping someone could offer me some advice, but all I got was being accused of complaining for the sake of it. Cheers.

Unfortunately your rights are limited as no doubt all that they have done will be covered within their t's and c's, unless you can prove that they agreed differently.

In future i would try and take it to one of the stores that have the experts onsite, i know this doesn't really help now.

The only two options you really have are to:

a)sell it and have no Ipod
b)keep it and live with the £62 charge
