Broadband Connection and Xmas Lights

Just a quick warning about Christmas lights in general. Please keep in mind that these are notorious for causing broadband connection drops throughout the festive period, especially the flashing kind.
So make sure that if you've covered your tree with lights that you keep it away from your internal wiring and if you are experiencing any broadband problems over the Christmas period try switching them off before calling your ISP to complain.
Remember also that the external lights people use to decorate their houses can also play havok with broadband connections and that includes your neighbors.
Pass the word!

seems like they are blaming the lights for their problems, even though Ive had problems with slow speeds and dropped connections for a couple of months.
Ive never had a problem and im one of those annoying people who cover every inch of their house, inside and out with blinking lights.0 -

I don't work for Plusnet although I am one of their customers. I can assure you though that the Christmas light thing is real but there's no way to predict what combination of lights and wiring will lead to problems.
I guess you're one of the lucky ones.
Plusnet have been having issues recently for sure (caused by a fairly major hardware failure) but they aren't trying to blame that on christmas lights because we've only just entered the christmas period.
You mention dropped connections. Perhaps I could help?0
