What did you think would happen when you want to upgrade six months early?0
-
I'm due an upgrade in June but when I phoned to say I wanted to buy an iphone I have to pay £150 for an early upgrade!! I don't want a free phone I'm willing to pay for it!!
I'm not being funny, but why would you expect them to let you out of a contract you willingly signed for free? You'll probably find that paying £150 to get out of the contract early is cheaper than buying an Iphone anyway.0 -
So I'm willing to raise my monthly payment from £12 to £30 and pay £125 for an iphone, also I would start a new 24 month contract. I just want an iphone not get out of the contract for free and !!!! off elsewhere. They would be making more money from me monthly plus an extended contract. As it is once 18 months is up I'll look elsewhere now.0

So when you want to upgrade again in 12m time would you expect the same again?
Perhaps you shouldn't sign 18m contracts if you're not happy to fulfil it.Work like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0 -
You signed up to an 18 month agreement with your current handset. Just because a new handset has came out you can't decide you'd be allowed to get it early just because you raised the cost of your talkplan!
Would you come on a forum and say the same if it was a new Sony Ericsson at £45p/m?0 -
Ok don't worry about it. You're obviously all too thick to comprehend it.0

I'm certainly not too thick to comprehend it.
You agreed to pay x amount of money for x handset over 18 months. If you do not complete the contract then they do not make their money back for the contract.
You then decide that you want an iPhone 12 months in. Even though that is 18/24 months revenue from you at a higher tariff, they have still lost out on the existing contract for which you have six months left to run. Hence the early upgrade fee.
If you want an iPhone that much then buy out of your contract at your monthly line rental x 6 months payments and look elsewhere. Simple!0 -
A contract is a contract....you agreed to pay £x amount per month for 18 months and probably got a phone too.
Just buy an i phone on payg and use your current sim,I wish i could get an i phone for £150.
I dont think insulting people is going to do you any favours:rolleyes::beer: Am thinking of a new one:beer:0 -
I think the thickest person on here is the one who can't understand that he had a phone on an 18 month contract at £12 a month which he wants to get out of 6 months early. As they have quoted him £150, it is safe to assume that he was given a fairly good handset 12 months ago, otherwise they would have simply charged him 6 times his monthly payment to terminate the contract early. The 12 payments so far of £12 a month probably don't even cover half the cost of his subsidised handset, hence the reluctance of the mobile provider to simply scrap that contract and replace it for one with a £500+ handset even on a 2 year contract.
How the hell are they supposed to make any money?0
