Halifax and PPI

However I sent off letters to Lloyds TSB and Blackhorse at the same time but they seem to be fobbing me off. I'm just preparing for the second stages with them.

Just to add my thoughts to the fab advice here - I successfully claimed back over 4k from the Halifax on a 15k loan. I actually found them incredibly quick and well-organised, they paid up straight away as a gesture of goodwill and i have found them to be far and away the quickest and most polite of all i have claimed back from.

I hope your experience with them is good too!

Update for you all.

Letters received back from Halifax confirming receipt of claims. Letters stated they have 8 weeks to respond but like to respond sooner. Calander marked ready for next step if needed.

No responce yet from Beneficial, weather could be playing a part with deliveries of mail. I will give them til after Xmas and re-send letter to them making a point I am not going to back down.

Also just wanted to add that we had a case with Halifax that was settled about 4 weeks after the inital letter going in. They paid us £1400 back via bank transfer into our account. Good luck and hope you have some luck in the new year.
