Does your keyboard have some small buttons on it for web, email, calc etc - and if so, what make is it.I am not savvy enough to understand what you are asking me about the multimedia hotkeys.
No, don't delete anything else at the moment. And apart from the one you mentioned,do i not need to delete anything else from the Hijack log list?
I am still not 100% convinced that there isn't something still hiding, but the problems you are seeing could also be related to damage caused by the infection.
I am sure that many people would recommend running ComboFix which will delve a lot deeper, and could well find something. It's not a program I have personally used much though, but it's up to you - there is quite a lot of info on it if you search the forum here.
If you want to have a go the instructions are, download COMBOFIX
Shut down your anti virus
Follow the simple instructions it gives
Post the COMPLETE log it creates here (Split into sections if need be)0 -
Hi again.Yes my keyboard does have those buttons on it,i use the email one mainly. It is a genius.Had it at least 2 years now.
I will try the combo fix.0 -
I wuld run Combo fix.
You need to turn off any anti virus or firwalls first
Then you need to run it in admin mode, it can take anywhere from 10-20 mins to run.
I would recommend turning off your screensaver, or standby mode, and whilst it i running do not use the pc, even touching a key..........
And after post the log, that you will find on the c:
This program can sort out a lot more than most programs, and is great for finding and fixing rootkits etc.Awaiting Inspiration......................0 -
I uninstalled AVG and tried to install combifix but my computer was flashing up all sorts of warnings so i chickened out and got rid! I have enough problems without messing things up even more.It needs someone who knows what they are doing i fear. Our computer savvy friend will be round our house shortly and i will ask him but meanwheile i will only do anything financial on the laptop!
Thanks for all of you trying to help it is much appreciated but i would rather not try anything i am not confident with.0 -
i use this program to fix most spyware malware probs, and never had a problem with switching off the av, i fully trust the program, and knows it gets rid of more stuff than most commercial scannersAwaiting Inspiration......................0

by refreshing the page on my banking,i eventually got further but then it wanted to close down almost immediately and came up with this message which i have not seen before, ever.
Internet Explorer has closed this webpage to help protect your computer
A malfunctioning or malicious add-on has caused Internet Explorer to close this webpage.
What you can do:
Go to your home page
Try to return to hsbc.co.uk
More information
Windows Data Execution Prevention detected an add-on trying to use system memory incorrectly. This can be caused by a malfunction or a malicious add-on.
Other things you can do:
Go online to learn about the Data Execution Prevention (DEP) security feature
does this make any more sense to the situation? i have checked and it states that add ons are disabled,so can't understand it0 -
You said your 'computer savvy' friend would be round to fix it. If they havnt then you REALLY need to wait for them.
If they have then they clearly havnt fixed the problem and I would also seriously recommend running COMBOFIX (You need to switch your anti virus OFF for it to work properly)
What I really DONT recommend is attempting to do online banking with your computer. Thats foolish and then some..........:idea:0 -
Oh no i am not attempting to do any banking,i do understand how risky that could be! our friend is a busy man,but is due to come over next week.He spent a long time here last Sunday trying to get rid of the original problem,so i don't like to keep bothering him.So i think i will take your advice and stop worrying about it,just using my laptop from now on.
What i was really asking is,does it now look as if there is definitely a virus still infecting certain websites ?0 -
With the infections that malwarebytes found im 95% sure your still infected:idea:0
