Stick at it, I spend hours a day entering, won't admit to myself or anyone else how many hours a day! Some prizes turn up months after their closing date. Had a couple of months with no wins apart from the odd bag of chips, then this month I have had a fantastic time. I have won a fridge freezer from ocean spray (comp ended September, didn't tell me I had won till last week) and a wii turned up today without any notification. And finally good luck I am sure if you stick at it you will be rewarded xAugust wins: BBQ, Solar Garden Lights, Seeds0

I enter 500+ comps per week and have done pretty well. I had a few weeks in October where I could only enter around 100 per week and the wins fell off.
Now I'm back entering 500+ per week the wins are starting again.
I enter comps that I don't even want to win as I feel that it narrows the odds on me winning something I do want to win if that makes any sense?2010: £86040 -
keep at it hun, i not really won anything in ages either was really hoping i would have at least 1 toy to put away for the boys but nowt ,dont give up! i have really felt like giving up but i tell myself if i give up i might be missing the win that was supposed to be mine.xx

Trouble is, we all expect to win every week/month. Why not just see how you feel after a year - even one big win a year is enough to keep comping IMO
I'm happy with what I've got so far. Would be nice to win that every month, but if it turns out I don't win big again until next August, so be it. Mind you, it'll take a hell of a while to win all I'd like to win! The list seems to be growing lol. I'm reluctant to even go out and buy a mascara these days in case I win one! It seems to be saving me a fortune generally as I just keep saying 'oh, I'll win one of those eventually...'

I do that. I was putting off buying a foundation as I was hoping to win a Rimmel one. I'd used up all the free samples I had so gave up and bought one. You guessed it, a week later the Rimmel foundation arrived! Still I won't have to buy any more for a while now!
As for the original post, what everyone else said really, keep going it will happen, it just usually takes a while for the wins to start coming in.0 -
I'm feeling really disheartened by comping at the moment. Fortunately I'm not at the point of seeing it as a chore. I'm hoping that if I plod on something good will come my way.
I've been recording the amount of comps I enter since the beginning of September, and all my wins, on a spreadsheet.
SEPT - entered 2861 - Won 10 prizes (approx value £200)
OCT - entered 2943 - Won 12 prizes (approx value £270)
Nov - entered 3613 - Won 8 prizes (in my sig) (approx value £100)
Dec - entered 860 so far.... no wins.....yet!
So I have entered well over 10,000 comps and won 30 prizes
There's bound to be comps from September that haven't yet closed/been drawn... but even still..... I would have thought at the rate I am entering I would have had a higher win rate. I'd hoped to have won some prizes for the kids to put away for xmas ... but nothing as yet:T*Thanks to all who posts comps * :j0 -
I only started to comp in october but have been very lucky enough to win a good haul os things, had a very dry november but already in december am up to 6 wins already, like has already been said enter for the smaller prizes, or multicomps where more chances to win. i started of by entering anything and anything, as you do lol, am now more selective but still enter a lot of comps each day, spending several hours clicking happily away. dont give up hope.My poor 15 yr old daughter broke her wrist i 5:eek: places tonight poor little mite was screaming in agony, all casted temp now and fingers crossed no surgery needed to fix.
get well soon honey .0 -
I also only started in October but have been very lucky. However, I do enter at least 500 comps plus a week. Keep trying, don't give up. Once you get that first prize through the post whether it be a CD or an ITV cash win, you will be hooked! xxxAvon Rep as of 05/10/10

Where do you find all these competitions please? I only enter the ones on here as I wouldn't know where else to look
I only enter competitions posted on here generally. Occasionally i have a look at at the other comp sites... but I would say I've only ever entered about 30 - 50 comps out of the 10,000 from those sites. Also, I do only enter for prizes I want or can use. I reckon I enter about 70% of all the comps posted here.
Currently I am entering about 50 of the advent comps each day. Plus I have approx 20 of the daily comps bookmarked.... so in December that's 70 comps each day without even starting on the main competitions board. I average between 100 - 120 comps a day. Some days I do reach a point where there are no mores comps for me to enter on here...but not often (because I can always visit the weekly or monthly comps). I have been away this weekend so I am currently playing catch up for comps posted on 5th/6th and today. I sort the forum by "thread start time" and work my way back through to where I last finished.
I think if you recorded how many you enter you'd be surprised - I know I was (am)!!:T*Thanks to all who posts comps * :j0
